I mentioned in my previous blog entry that Ryorei and I were working on a project together. It has opened officially a couple of days ago and we are both very happy with the reaction of the other TFL'ers. Please visit our fanlisting directory for anything related to Asia, located at Asialistings.org. We are already listing over 150 fanlistings in only about three days, and we're both very happy with that. Though obviously we hope new applications will keep coming. ;-)
I'm currently enjoying the last days of my holidays and I really don't look forward to going back to school on Friday. Luckily the weekend starts right after it. =D
Who's your favorite movie villain?
I've always liked vampires and this time, too, it'd probably one of them. Until a couple of years ago I would have replied Dracula without a doubt, but right now I'm tempted to pick another. Possibly Akasha from The Vampire Chronicles. And although it is not from a movie but a TV series, I also love Cole from Charmed. Being evil without being able to help it (at least at some stages), is an interesting thing.
First off, can I just say the new layouts for Vox are gorgeous? <3 I picked the beach one for now, but don't bite me if I change it again fairly soon. They're all just too beautiful.
Anyways, as some of you might have heard, my modem broke last week and I was forced to overcome my Internet obsession. Which, at first, did not work at all. Looking back at it I've never seen myself that desperate before. As the days passed - because the technician had no time to come fix it immediately - I somehow managed. Went out some more, you know - shopping, McDonalds... and as you can see, I survived. But I'm extremely happy to be back.
I have revamped my Vampire Fanlisting Directory, something I'd wanted to do for months but I never got around to. I'm very pleased with the new look and any new listings are of course welcome. ;-)
Last but not least I want to mention that Ryorei and I have decided to work on one or two projects together. I will not yet tell any of it because we might decide to go in another direction with certain things, but you can certainly look forward to seeing some teamwork from us. I've personally never shared a website with someone else before, so it's definitely fun to do. Now we can only hope our projects will be succesful.
Hello again! I wonder why I always go through that love it - don't care about it stage. As in: I was really excited about this new journal, then I somehow wandered off and forgot about it. But fear me, for I am back. ;-)
So, you might be wondering what I have been up to. While most people have interesting goals to fulfill during the holidays, mine sounds somewhat... different. I'd told myself that by the time school starts again (September 1st), I should be happy with every single layout of the fanlistings I own. SIlly though it is, it's not easy. And while trying to make new layouts this morning, it struck me that if I really couldn't bring myself to do so for some fanlistings, I'd better give them away. Which resulted in a new adoption post. Most of the fanlistings are Charmed related, but there are some others. Feel free to go check them out. =)
Tomorrow, I'm going to visit a friend of mine. Should be fun, considering her parents are not at home so we won't be bothered with any of the silly things parents tend to be talking about. I'm definitely looking forward to it. More on this (probably?) later.
Play any instrument or speak any language, which do you choose?
I'd definitely want to speak any language. I've been a language freak ever since I was a child, coming up with my own words for things I did not yet know the name for. Languages are wonderful to me, and I would definitely want to be able to speak all of them. Can you imagine how much fun that would be?
And yes, obviously I like music too. But I've never felt the urge to learn play an instrument myself - I'd much rather sing, if anything. So this was not a hard choice for me. ;-)
Today, I received a package from a Japanese friend. I don't want to show off or anything, but I just had to mention it. It contained a whole bunch of Japanese magazines, magnets with the letters of one of the Japanese alphabets, a written oracle and the, well, thing I'm wearing on the picture to the left. I've e-mailed him to ask what the text on it means, because frankly, I don't know. I can only hope it's nothing bad, hehe. But whatever it is, I'm really happy about all of this. Now I should have a look around for something typically Belgian to send him, but that is not at all easy. O_o Any ideas?
What was the highlight of this past weekend?
I have holidays, so every single moment is a highlight. XD Seriously though, I think it'll have to be watching the movie Moon Child. It is a very international type of movie (features English, Korean, Japanese and Chinese) about the life of a normal guy and a vampire in a poor region of Taiwan. I loved it to bits, and watched it all over again the next day.
What's the most extreme weather you've been in? A memorable storm? Heat wave? Or something else?
Actually, these last weeks there has been a heatwave going on in I think most of Europe. The temperature reached 37.5°C (99.5°F) which might not be a big deal to those of you who live in hot countries but here in Belgium it hasn't happened in years. So that has been the most extreme weather for me.
Although I didn't like it at all, it was actually my mother who has had the most trouble dealing with the weather. She had a headache all the time, was tired and couldn't sleep. She is better now though.
And while I'm are talking about the weather I'll also mention that I might visit Canterbury (England) on Thursday. It's not for sure yet because the weather should be good - we're going by boat and both my father and I are sensitive to seasickness. But I can't wait to see England for the first time.
Most of you probably don't remember the time when I had a blog. I'd started one on my own domain a bit over a year ago and kept the blogs coming for about ten months. The reason why I stopped blogging was because I didn't really have any good online friends who ran blogs themselves, and the only way for me to get comments was to surf blogs of people I barely knew and use the 'I scratch your back, you scratch mine' strategy. After a while I started to realize the interest my commenters seemed to show was quite fake. As you know sometimes you are just busy and you don't have the time to comment back immediately. When that happened, I went straight from about twenty comments to zero.
Yes, I know. Blogging is not about the comments, but about the blogs. I know that and I'm definitely not blogging just with the comments in mind, but then again, if they weren't important to me then I would have used a real journal. If comments were the only thing I cared about, my blog wouldn't have lasted for ten months back then. But in the end it did play an important role in my decision to quit blogging. However - I've missed it.
Maybe it is possible to make a new and better start here on Vox? I know a lot of TFL'ers are on it and I'd be glad to read their posts and comment simply because I already know them a bit. And hopefully I'll get to know some new friends as well. So Vox, here I come. Hopefully to have, and give people, a good time. =)
Book Akasha is a lot better than movie Akasha ;) That movie was so incredibly horrible - it's sad how... read more
